1907  Musquash breed twice in the summer, and bring forth at each litter from six to eight. In the fall the large ones fetch the hunters ten cents, and the kits or small ones, five cents.
1948  Any information on the occurrence of kit foxes is worthy of record, and any specimens should find their way to a Museum, but it must be kept in mind that a fox kit (=a young fox) is not necessarily a kit fox.
1958  Foxes mate in February or March, and the four to nine kits are born in April or May.
1963  Minks have but one litter each year, and a fertility rate of over four kits per litter is generally required for a profitable operation.
